I started playing it again the other day. Spent 2 hours exploring a cavern, found a whole load of resources. Left the cavern, ready to start crafting with my new rare materials and fell and died. For the life of me I couldn't find where I died! I was so angry I went for a drive to tesco and 1in the morning for some food. I will never touch that game again :L
Haven't been spending much time in my MineCraft world lately, with Portal 2 GameSalad and what not, but I love my castles. I think I left my guy exploring a cavern with a skellie Dungeon in it last.

But what I've been doing is using "inside job". Its a program that lets you edit you inventory and get and item you want. I know thats cheating but I've been doing alot of building rather than surviving.
For me, a lot of the fun of the building part is the gathering. I have really big structures and castles and stuff, warehouses of resources, all from fighting tooth and nail through dungeons of spiders, creepers, zombies and skeletons... slimes too.
It's funny, I have a giant firey beacon tower just like yours.

Whats cool about editing you inventory though is that you can place stone. Not cobblestone but the stone you see before you break it. you cant do that without editing it.
thats what my bridge is made with.
EDIT: BTW something really cool to do is make a tower on top of your spawn spot. Its really nice to have if your trying to survive. I also have a tunnel going from my spawn point back to my base.

Take cobblestone, place in furnace, insert burning, wait minutes, retrieve stone... place. Cobblestone turns back into stone from smelting!

But dude, MineCraft is the coolest thing sense the Atari 2600 (good times BTW). And while where on the subject, we should get together and have some sort of MineCraft/GameSalad get together over Skype or something. Maybe work on a MineCraft clone project in GameSalad (ok, thats a little far fetched) but check out metaminecraft.servegame.com anyway, its ran by my cousin and I (I'm Jobonoobdude there too)
