woah! lightbulb!

just had an idea. with nintendo's dsi, Wii, and soon to be 3ds eshops, don't you think it would be neat if GameSalad supported development for those systems too? after they master ios, of course.

Actually it's not even that it would take a while, it will never happen.

Nintendo is fine with small companies, but for the solo dev your out of luck.

Apple and Nintendo are very similar yet very different. They both have very firm beliefs in how their company should be ran, and they seem to be very similar in how they make hardware and market it, but when it comes to developers and games/applications Apple is way more open and supportive (edit: For the most part).

Unfortunately the AppStore would packed with far less junk if apple went with the same business model. Sucks for us I guess.

I'm one of them but its actually more due to the article than actual feelings :). Although N64 was the last system they made I liked. Man I remember the days of goldeneye.

Now I see. That article is disappointing.

it's a shame if they never open it to indie developers, but you never know - anything in tech can change.

well, wiiware does do indie. Max and the magic marker is on the wii shop channel, and it was made in unity. But that was after it got famous as a PC game.
