Dear All,

Again, this is very basic but I did search the foruns and couldn´t find an answer.

Can I have a paid app with iAd or iAd is exclusively to free app?

Thanks a lot,

Jose

A Paid app can have iAd's in them but it is a frowned upon practice.

Indeed. You can expect a lot of angry reviews saying stuff like 'I paid for this and it STILL has ads in it? Way to gouge your customers' etc etc

    QS :D

Thank you guys for the info.

I take it is possible to start an app as paid (no iads) and then make it available for free (with iads) for a limited time and then turn it to paid again (no iads).

In the case above, only when the app is free, would I have the option to have iads? I mean with the exactly same app or would I have to do an update in order to enable iad during this period?

Would you guys recommend this strategy?

    Thanks a lot again,

    Jose

You would have to submit an updated app with the iAds in it as well as changing the price.

Personally I wouldn't recommend it because everyone that has paid for your app previously will download the update and suddenly have ads in it! That will annoy them!!

Its best to have two different versions, a free with ads and a paid version without ads ever.
