Anything I need?

Been reading on here and seeing some people talk about XCode & other programs they need to use in order for this to work or for that to work. Basically just wondering what are all the things that I'll need in order to create an application? I know I'll need a Mac and a iTouch or iPad along with the program of Game Salad, but is there any programs out there that I should purchase?

Was wondering if I should purchase the Development Kit from Apple as well or if I should purchase video software to create a trailer for my applications. Thanks guys!

Well it xcode it's the program you use to make applications for mac, ipad, iphone from scratch. I think you only need xcode for testing the apps on the actual iphone. You can get xcode 3 for free from the developers page of apple or you can buy xcode 4 for $5 from the app store.

But if you want to create your own art, I'll suggest you look in the help section. There they link you to free software you can use to create art and other stuff you need to make a game. But if you want to pay for software I suggest you buy some of the adobe products.

- You will need a Mac (not cheap...)
- You will need Xcode for the App build process (cheap or free as stated above)
- You need the gamesalad software (free)
- You will need to join the iOS or the Mac developer program ($99 each, but choose your target you might not need both)

Optional
- Screen recording software (I use a combination of Soundstage and iMovie)
- If you create your own art and music you will need relevant software for it

What about if I do not create my own art? I draw my characters in my notepad, with the use of a scanner I can add it to my computer but I didn't want to have to do the whole Wacom Tablet with pen to draw out my designs. How do people actually get there drawings in the game?
