Making a vapor trail NOT disappear when particle effect is triggered again...

Hey guys I'm having troubles with the particle effect...I have a bunch of gravity orbs that when pressed make a rocket accelerate towards it and my rocket ship spits out a vapor trail very nicely...but if I press the gravity orb again all the old vapor trail disappears instantly and another one starts...I wish there was a persistent way to have all the particles stay, suggestions?
