Some unexpected 'corner' collision going on

I have a mobile player actor and a static wall actor. Both have a Restitution of 0, and typically the player comes to a complete rest when it collides with the wall.

If it hits any corner of it, however (even if the collision shape is circular), it unexpectedly gently bounces off, at an apparently constant speed (I tracked it once to 2000+ pixels from the wall it had struck).

I'd like it not to do that. Is it something to do with the other physics settings? What am I missing?
