Platform game characteer states: Help Please! :)

Hi guys, i'm trying to make a platform game. I've studied the ''Platformer template'' and it's quite nice, but there's something unstable about the ''states'' of the character, they are flickering when he comes to a stop.( hope u know what i mean) and i want a a more stable result....I have tried to play around with the attributes for several days now without result... I also found this tutorial and it describes Exactly what i want to achieve..

but i'm not quite understanding it... I don't know if it's me, or if the tutorial is unprecise???

    Actually I don't really understand what you mean by flickering. I thought the platformer template used a ball for the character? you are talking about Darren's platformer template correct?

    and by ''flickering'' i meant that when coming to a stop after running, the actor switches between atleast 2 ''poses'' before picking the correct one... so there's a conflict between attributes somewhere but i cant figure out where...

    (I have been told that this game is more of a learning example rather than something to rely on... but i still think it's kind of good? the only thing bothering me is the ''flickering'' )

    Ok heres what I did to stop the flickering but it will need a few more rules added to get some of the other moves working forinstance moving right while jumping.

    move the animation behaviors to the same rule as the key is down rule and add the condition when self.motion.linearvelocity.y=0

    No I also added a rule to the actor

    When right key is up
    and when left ket is up change self.motion.linearvelocity.x to 0

    that fixed the flickering in the animation states hopefully you can go from there to fix the jumping movements that this method breaks.
