Retina Display As Default ?

Is it possible to have a game that is 'retina display' only, as in, there is 'NO' lower resolution graphics provided, how would I go about defining that, only provide the 2x res graphics and no lower res. and it will 'default' to retina only, or what ?

Depending on the graphics it may result in lower performances on older devices but on the other hand you will save on file size.
All my game are retina only and so far I didn't receive complaints from older generation device users.

Why would you want that?
Lump Apps and My Assets
Hi, I am creating some very specific artwork, a mixture of illustrator and pixel artwork, the graphics would be too low res for my liking at anything below retina res, hence the requirement to run in 'retina' only mode.

actually, that does a pretty good job explaining it all to me !

So they look unacceptable on your computer screen?
The actors don't change physical size, just the amount of pixels that make them.
Like it or not, on non-retina devices, you will lose pixels... it's just whether you provide the artwork that will be shown on non-retina devices, or you let the device decide and run the scaling algorithm. Or it's possible from my reading that GameSalad is running the scaling algorithm. Regardless, I would rather have control of my lower-res art assets than let GameSalad or Apple run an algorithm on it.
Especially with pixel art, you have to be careful with sizing.
Is this true of Gamesalad ? I know there is games on the appstore that are 'retina display' only.
I'm not sure if you can do that through GameSalad.
(a) Can I make my game with highres graphics for retina display only / ipad ?
(b) If I do only create high res artwork, will GS still create a lower resolution version anyway that is compatible with older devices ( even if RI is unchecked ) ?
(c) If it doesn't, is there any way to stop this from happening, I am happy to market it as retina / ipad only ?
