GS is making my images small ?!

i have an image, it is 480 x 320.
GS doesn't ask me to re-size it, but when i put it in, the size is about 115 x 76 ?!
How can i fix this, why did it do it ?

Uncheck enable resolution independence in your project editor (its located below the instructions box)

your images are most likely not 72DPI

They must be 72DPI

You must use 72dpi. I'd be willing to be you are not.

Still totally confused as to why GameSalad would care what resolution your images are at...

Apple has put a recommendation of 72dpi in their human interface document, I'm assuming that is why GS choose that.

They shouldn't have to choose any DPI. Pixels are pixels. They shouldn't even be reading any info about DPI. What does GameSalad have to do with dots?

I'm assuming that when everyone is referring to DPI (dots per inch) they actually mean PPI (pixels per inch).

The main problem with this is that DPI (dots per inch) is an old printer specific term that has been applied to everything relating to resolution and the size of a digital image. This is very confusing because different situations work with resolution in very different ways, and having a single term for all of them just makes things more confusing.

More recently, the term PPI (pixels per inch) has appeared in common usage and is far more specific for what the term entails. DPI is still used in most documents and software when technically, PPI is really what they mean.
