App Promo Codes Can No Longer Be Rated

Interesting article I found on Destructoid:

"If you've received a promotional code from a game publisher to download an app from Apple's App Store, you can no longer rate that download. An Apple support email posted on the Touch Arcade fourms states: "It is no longer possible to rate or review an app if it was downloaded using a developer's promotional code."

    I think it's for the best, people were abusing the promo code system and giving 5 star reviews for crappy games

    I agree, people abusing the system using promos are finally getting payback. We're going to be seeing a lot more 1 and 2 star apps now.

    Ha, well geez, I looked several pages back and did not see it, my bad gentlemen! :P

    I agree it was being used, especially for users to score some insta-5 star reviews.

    It just sucks for those of us, especially passing out promos on T.A for honest reviews, that they can longer review them. Promos really aren't good for anything now but review sites, and maybe passing some out on T.A just to get noticed.

    From what I heard, it's all speculation, we actually don't know what changed the algorithm, but that's one of the theories

    apple cant know how often a app is used. not all devices are always connected o internet.

    Actually apple has a top secret satellite connection to every single iOS device out there. They're tracking your every move and sometimes, They even get in and screw with you while you are playing games. Ever wondered why your angry birds shot some times goes way off even though you made a minor adjustment. Its all employee's screwing with you on their breaks. HAHAHAHA Apple = World Domination

    BTW still not convinced this is really true. since I just got a promo code off this site and downloaded on itunes, played if for a little bit and left a review. never got any error message about needed to buy it first.

    I have a feeling the people experiencing this maybe are the ones who always leave 5 stars or something. Idk seems weird but I still have not had issues with this.
