Hey Guys,
I am currently a new member for GameSalad. When I was about to publish my app, in the advanced settings I noticed the custom splash screens. What type of file does that accept? How do I make one? Would anyone be able to make one for me with sound & everything?

You cant put sound in it, and I'm pretty sure it accepts most image files.

    not true, look at

Look at his splash screen, it's definitely not an image and includes sound.

I don't see a splash screen. And I don't think you can preview custom splash screens in the creator.

You can only put a static image when it comes to custom splash screen. You also cant put any sound until the game itself loads.. What people sometimes do is put a static "loading" image.. Then when the game loads it goes to the first scene that first scene is an animation of their company logo maybe with a little tune.. Then it goes to scene 2 where the game itself starts.

I'm pretty sure that what stormy did there is used scene 1 of the game to make that animation inside gamesalad.. then went to scene 2 for the main title screen.

As you can see below the scene, there is a scene name, which changes. He made that as an animation. It's a splash screen, but he did it himself. Not with GS's splash screen feature.

alright then :) But what types of files can I put into the custom splash screen instead of GS, in the advanced settings for PRO users? Can anyone make me an animation like that?

Can any pro user use custom splash screen & if so would it still show the GS splash screen?

Yes if you are pro. You can use a custom splashscreen and you won't have any GS branding on your game.

but then what type of file does the upload have to be to override the GS splash?

When you upload an image for a custom Splash screen, it just doesn't show the GS splash screen.

I don't understand the point of the "custom splash screen." Why not just make the first scene of your game an animated logo with sound and music? That would be better than a static image, right?

I have not been able to get the custom splash screen image to show up, I just get the same old 7 seconds of black screen that I imagine will cause the more impatient buyers to give me a bad review since the game obviously does not work if you have to wait 7 seconds for it to start.

No need to bump old threads, this one is dealing with the old publishing method, in .10 there is a new way to implement the splash screen. As long as your image is the right resolution and you select it on the publishing page it will work
