Hi everyone,
I've just finished composing a small piece of music for my next game. It's only 40 seconds long and will loop in the background of the menu and level select scenes but not the levels themselves (which will have a simpler background track).

Please can you let me know what you think? Is it too short, doesn't sound great, etc... all comments welcome. I'm aiming for a whimsical feel like the music to cut the rope and drop the chicken since my game is similar to those.

Cheers.

I must admit my heart sank as I started to read your comment! lol... I really should read ahead huh?

Thanks, glad you liked it. Hope you find suitable music. I might offer to write pieces for users in the future but no time at the moment.

    Was this made with garageband?

No with Reason 3 on my iMac and mostly instruments from the Orkestra soundbank which is amazing.

Great job I love that kind of music I have to figure out how to do that kind of music. It kind of sounds like "A Monster Ate my Homework" love it.

I love it. This will go great with my next game :)

It has a "Cut the rope" feel to it.

awesome job ... I think QS was joking that it a fun, light hearted, playful sound ... thus perfect for Zombie Apocalypse! (Ie: NOT).

Somes background soundtracks I find tiresome but this is very well done!

    Reminds me of Viva Pinata.

I hadn't heard of that game but just played a YouTube clip and I can see what you mean. To be honest this genre of game music uses the same set of instruments - pizzicato strings, glockenspiels, bells, xylophone etc.. so you end up with a certain 'sound'.

I'm quite happy a few of you have likened it to other games. I don't see that as a bad thing.

PS Just built the volume and sound fx sliders on my settings page so at least it can be muted if need be! lol.

Thanks very much. Yeah I can see what QS meant now although I think it would be very cool and surreal to have zombie attacks set to nice music. I'm sure I've seen that used in films before.
