Looking to get a Mac for GS. Is the latest Mac Mini too under powered for GS? would would you suggest what type of Mac to get in order to run GS with out being slow.

seeing a Apple Mac Mini 1.66 Intel Core Duo,1.25GB Ram on Ebay, but not sure if that will cut it.

thanks,
z

That's not enough... It will be painfully slow

You need something with 4 gigs of ram

    I have used a 2009 and now a 2010 mac mini.

2.0 ghz dual core would be the lowest I would go

I work with a 2 Ghz core 2 Duo with 2 GBs ram Mac Mini
Works alright. Hardly any problems (some but might be GS's memory leak)

    Costs only a few 100's.

any intel mac mini should be fine just upgrade your ram as much as you can afford. I have run GS on a 1.6Ghz netbook hackintosh and only 1Gb of ram, with the only real issue being the resolution so if its an intel mac mini i'd say go for it. also the memory upgrade will likely not be as big of an issue with the update slated for next week that has fixed memory leak issues.

    Thanks for all the replies.

My other option is installing OSX on a 2nd HDD on my PC and switching the HDD boot order. I'm running on a HP xw4400 Intel Core2 Duo Quad Core 2GB Ram.

But it sounds like it would be worth the money/time getting a Mac Mini 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4+GB ram.

    I have a Mac Mini (Late 2009 model). I think it's great!

I posted about the switch from PC to a Mac Mini here...

    ...and here...

...but it works a lot better with more RAM...

I would highly recommend the mac mini. It is so small that it takes up hardly any space, but yet powerful enough to run GameSalad. In fact I have a previous generation mac mini for sale. It has a 160 GB hard drive, and a 2.26 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM. I am asking $500 for it, but the price is negotiable. If you are interested, email me at sales@pdlproductions.com.
