Fine, you REALLY what to know what Masala is?! Everything you want to know is right here:

I've put everyone at risk showing you that. GameSalad's plans are now spoiled... it was going to be a great dinner too.

I think I know what it is but for the sake of throwing more disinformation into the mix... perhaps it's the transformation of GameSalad into SkyNet.
  • olster1olster1 Member Posts: 396
There was link posted of what it was yesterday I think... Taken down swiftly ofcourse.
  • RattleheadRattlehead Member Posts: 485

You're not the only one! Bit gutted but I'll find out soon I guess

    @tenrdrmer

I hardly think it's ruined it for anyone. I mean if you hype something up this much (not saying that's a bad thing or it's undeserved hype) you have to expect that when there is a leak it will get posted. It probably annoyed the devs keeping their future development secret and all that good stuff.

They have made one or two comments and left it at that. The users here who cannot respect the sensitivity of the information are the ones who have hyped it. And now some ass spilled the beans. if it in fact was the beans. GameSalad felt it would threaten this project if it was made public before it was ready and now some ass has decided they have some info and instead of doing whats best for GameSalad they did what they saw an opportunity for them to have there 15Seconds in the spot light by realizing the information before GameSalad was ready. That person has no respect for GameSalad as a company or a tool and I really hope GameSalad had the sense to Ban the user from the Site and even the creator.

+1 thats too bad that someone would do something like that.

I suggest to add on the NDAs something to prevent the sous chefs to tell how cool the new features they are testing are. It is sooo mean :)

And it would prevent the other members to get too crazy.

A little too far... If I found it I sure as hell would have posted it beforehand. Not for the fame or to stick it to game salad but because it's in the interest of the community. Anywho it's gone now and I can't wait for ALL the official info and release. :D

Personally, I think any and every thread with reference to the speculation of the project should be closed or deleted. They've been un-constructive and annoying. That's just me, though.

I personally think that the sous chef are not really teasing us when they say that the builds they got in advance are very exciting. I for once thank them for doing this.

GameSalad like any other company is always going to say that their products and the new features are the best and that we should be really exciting for whats coming in the future (its marketing 101). But not always what the company says is what the users or customers thinks or expects.

If you think about it Sous Chefs are users like us and if they start telling that they are excited and that the new builds are amazing. We are in fact getting a little sneak peak from the users point of view and we wont be disappointed when the build finally releases.

So you didn't think "Damn him! I want that build. I will find where he lives and torture him until I find out"?

Another good method is to use the sous chef family or pets to blackmail him.

LOL i would lie If I told you that I'm not a little bit jealous that they already know.

But if you see the big picture

    1. Its good that users do testing in advance so we don't have another 9.3.3 accident.

    2. Like my previous posts said. We get to hear an honest opinion from real users.

    so its all good :).

ps: maybe we could start kidnapping some sheep. =)
  • MarkOnTheIronMarkOnTheIron Member Posts: 1,447
Sheep are not a good idea, I heard that they stinks a little.

By the way they test builds since the beginning but bugs always slips even through the tightest checkup and that will probably be true also for 9.5.

I think it's fun to watch Tshirtbooth get excited about an update. I'm still skeptical, as I had a tough time with 0.9.3... but I like the hype about Masala. I can't really blame the Sous-Chefs about creating hype, as they're not the ones that started it. Steve Felter started it.

I don't think I'd describe a feature as "Face Melting" and I probably wouldn't put a secret project on the roadmap. It doesn't serve much purpose other than to build hype. Heh... but if that was the goal... mission accomplished.

I'm not sure why this has to be a big secret. As developers we can better prepare our games for new features. So for now, I'm just going to work on other things.

I hope Masala is an optional alternate view of the project, kind of an editable outline/flowchart view with collapsable sections. Think how Adobe GoLive (RIP) had it's two other alternate ways to view and work with a websites content other than just code-mode and wysywg-mode. That would kick ass.

I hear all this talk about "Project Masala" being really cool. If it was "THAT" cool, they would have called it "Project Bacon."

Everyone knows that bacon makes salads wonderful. No one puts Masala on salads... Come on.

    +1,000,000,000,000,000 for bacon
