I guess it's a problem with the barrier of an online forum; on my end it wasn't meant maliciously at all, in fact I like to think I'm a pretty friendly guy. Maybe I should have put a ;-) on the end of the post, or not posted it at all, I'm just used to a bit of email teasing with work colleagues etc so it's just my way.
Sincere and genuine apologies for any offence caused, I certainly would not be able to write anything in Italian and I have big respect for you and your use of the English language.

I know this is more sensitive to foreign people and you out of ignorance laugh about it but this is one of the reasons we don't like Mel Gibson anymore.

I agree though I saw it as a joke and when learning a foreign language you have to understand you will mistakes. For example when I was younger my mother ordered a margherita or as my mum said in italian 'a flying pizza' to which the staff laughed and then explained to us which we found even funnier!

When I saw the first post I didn't laugh one bit. In fact, I'm such a bad speller that I didn't even really notice the spelling mistake. When I saw the second post I laughed because I didn't take it as a cruel put down. I mean it was a joke about spelling. I just didn't think that anyone really got upset about their spelling being poked fun at. I just thought it was witty to spell vertical like that. I teach 8th grade and I write things on the white board every day. I also have at least one spelling mistake every day (I'm not joking) and my 8th graders love to tease me about it. It has never bothered me. I just laugh at myself. I am truly sorry that my post hurt people's feelings - I think that if this had all gone down in person we would have all had a good chuckle about it (I think that you would have seen that my tone was playful not mean). Some things just don't work in print.
Again, sorry and I hope we can move on.

However I will certainly not stand for my name being dragged in to a race issue. In fact I take great offence to your post. The fact that you have decided to try and turn this whole issue in to a case of racial abuse says a lot more about your character than it does mine. I think that you need to take a long hard think about things and try and work out exactly what crimes have actually been committed here, and what crimes you have just concocted in your own head.
I think it's best for all concerned if we try and keep this thread on track now.

What bothered me the most was that people wrote that they laugh about it and try to turn this into a joke after 1up showed that he got offended.
Like I said this kind of jokes are sensitive to some people. I am one of them. You don't have to understand it...

This kind of jokes offend some people not all but some. If you don't understand it, just respect it and it will be ok. I am not trying to drag you anywhere, this is a consequence of that kind of jokes. I can understand that maybe you did not intended to be offensive but 1up took offense. This is not hard to understand... I am not out of place by commenting on your lack of judgment. You can just forget about it or keep dragging yourself to wherever you want.

Dont celebrate this kind of behavior, this kind of jokes. It might be a language barrier thing and more people may take offense. Let's learn about this situation so we don't repeat it.
Lord Out... unless I need to explain it a little more, like I said this is a sensitive issue that some just don't or pretend not to understand. I can be here all week... defending my point.

I am now stepping away from this thread because it serves no further purpose, and I do so with my head held high.
I am part and have the right to be part of any conversation. What about you? you joined to make an unnecessary joke... I am not trying to antagonize and cause any kind of grief, you are doing it great by your self. The people here knows how I am not a person that brings problems to the forum. But I will not tolerate your hahaha, sorry, hahaha. It was a joke at the beginning but the after knowing it was wrong you kept laughing and that was offensive. I am telling you I am willing to leave this right here but if you keep trying to turn this into me, I will not tolerate that either...
it is clear that the majority of people here took my comments to be in the good-natured manner they were intended, but it is also clear that my comments have caused some offence, for which I am sorry. However it is important to realise that whichever way any individual may have taken my comments, they were not meant in a malicious way, I don't have a malicious bone in my body and I genuinely want to get along with anyone and everyone. After all I would make a joke about anybodies spelling, regardless of which country they are from. As stated before at the time of my first post I didn't even know that 1UpGamestudios' native language was not English.
Let's put this whole sorry affair behind us and move on with more important threads in the forum. To all included, I wish nobody any ill will and I wish you all well with your endeavours.
