animating help

i followed tshirtbooth's right and left platform tutorial thing ( ) and added jumping just fine and everything is working except animating? i have a character that moves one way and when i move in the other direction it changes images to the character facing the other way and vice versa, how can i make this so that they each have different animations and only animate while moving? Im kinda new so try to explain it simple, thanks in advance!

    srry this didnt work out with the video, anyways i did the tutorial and i want it so that when i face one direction while moving it will animate and when i move in the other direction have another animation, after each animation it should stay still at a certain picture that i have.

    btw when i tryed doing this before it kept animating really fast, i only had it at 5 frames a second so im not sure what went wrong
