background problems

I set a picture as the background but when i drag the actors over it you can't see them -how do i fix this

Check in the layers, your background is probably over your actors, just drag and drop it under them.

Yup, in the scene editor, click the box that says SCENE (right next to the button that says GAME), then click on the arrow that says Background, then click and drag the "background" image to the very bottom (this puts it behind all actors in the scene).
