iOS Simulator not working

I'm having trouble setting up my iOS Simulator to test games on... anyone have any tips? It seemed like it was working for a little while, then the Simulator froze, and when I restarted it the little button on my gamesalad screen that says 'test on iPad' disappeared and hasn't returned. Anyone else had this problem? Wondering if it's also dependent on my Wifi, as my signal isn't great right now...
