Instance Attributes

Surely we used to be able to add attributes to unlocked actors 3 or 4 betas ago? Every time, recently, I go to do this and the buttons aren't there, I've convinced myself that I must have been mistaken and that could never be done. But I've just opened a game file from last year (or even before that), and low and behold, there's an attribute I made in the Instance actor's Attributes list. What's more, there's the attribute as self.WhatICalledIt in the Rules, and still can be found via the Attribute Browser, even though I can't add/delete any more in 0.9.4, seeing as the buttons have disappeared. I knew I wasn't going mad! ;-)

Has this been brought up before in the Forums somewhere? Does anyone know the reason why the ability to add attributes to Instances has gone? Does anyone know if this will come back to GS at some time? Or am I making some really silly oversight at 10 past 1 in the morning?

yeah its been gone since 0.9.3 :(

its annoying when you forget to add a attribute to the prototype before you unlock it!

you can add the attribute in the prototype but I dont think you have been able to add an attribute to a single instance for a long time if ever. I know I have noticed in the last several releases there was no option when I realized I didn't have an attribute I needed. But I know you can add attributes to the prototype and it will add to the instance even if it is unlocked.

Thanks for confirmation, John. It's a shame really, but thinking about it, I guess there's no need for Instance attributes as such. Or is there? I'm too tired to think it through; that's my excuse anyway. :-)

Thanks for help; I surely know about adding attributes to Prototypes though ;-) And for info, as John P. confirmed, we used to be able to add attributes to Instances back in version 0.9.2 and before.

I'm still skeptical. I know its been a while since I have noticed that you couldn't do that. 0.9.3 has not been here that long.

??! It's true, I tell you! You could add attributes to Instances in past betas! But hey tenrdrmer, don't believe it if you want to! (And John remembered it had GONE in 0.9.3, so possibly it could have been done in 0.9.2 or even 0.9.1. And I remember it now my mind has been nudged, your honour.
