i was browsing the app store and if some of you have been following the charts in the last couple of days you will see that there is a game out there made from gamesalad. i dont want to point you to it or names as i feel it does nothing good for the community but my point of the topic is that a guy who has made alot of apps of just templates most just released as is and has got to number 20 in alot of big markets.
their latest game however breaks alot of rules and i would like to hear your thoughts on some things.
first the art work used by the guy is copyright to someone else who has not given permission for the use of the art. what right does the artist have? when he does not have the persons actual address. all he can do is complain to apple right? if so this means no-ones art is not protected at all.
second even if apple do receive alot of complaints they dont pull the app straight away and in that time its too late the person has already made alot of money.
now in terms of gamesalad, an idea in regards to the image branding of the gamesalad company. as gamesalad has enabled anyone to make apps and publish for free using their splash screen as marketing, do you think it creates a negative light for the community when people see such a rubbish game top of charts made from gamesalad. i know many of you have said you dont see it until you buy it but once you have its automatically a blow if the game is rubbish. I also know many of you will say that there are many great games made in gamesalad, this i know, but how many of those great games keep the splash screen... not many. is it gamesalads right in a sense to ban users who misrepresent this community?
thanks.
if you look at the charts. its number

google the name, exactly like the author of the art has named it.

He's probably some 16 year old kid who doesn't have any money. His app has 1-star and literally every review is "this game sucks."
I wouldn't worry about it. Most people won't even see this game, let alone download it. So no, it doesn't make the community look bad.
As far as suing him, he's not worth the time and money it costs to pay a lawyer. Maybe they send him a cease and desist letter and that'll be the end of it.
Just stay focused on making good games and you'll be fine.
Shadows Peak is an atmospheric psychological horror that explores the dark side of a player.
Stop selling templates is what I say
EDIT: I dont understand who would buy it with 11 1 star reviews. they must be mad.
