There is certainly a market. But here is the deal. The vast majority of Android users do not download any apps at all (recent study). But those that do actually download tend to do it many times fold than Iphone users. Thus, what you get is a smaller market that likes certain types of games and they download and spend a lot. So if you hit it right you can make tons (but you have to hit the exact market according to the study). Saw the summary of the study on AppAdvice if anyone is interested.
i read a similar study discussed here a week back or so but it was saying they are cheaper basically and will be more likely to download free apps...but with a solid game a market is a market !
tshirtboot already hinted that project masala is about android... I think...

Yes FMG's said that he makes that . But heres the deal. He has made an Incredible Game. That had already made something like 100,000 sales on the GameSalad iPhone version before an android version was even made. And even then it was a very slow start.
Until I have a Great game on my hands I really could care less about android. and even then it will have to not suck to port it over.
There are conflicting stories on Android. Most people don't make money from Android devices, but I've spoken with some devs that make more with Android than iOS, and haven't continued to upload games to the device.
It probably depends on what market you're targeting, if it's kids and teens or even adults who can hack the devices, you won't make money. If it's a different demographic you might.
Either way, I think GS should support as many publishing avenues as they can, once they've prioritized the remaining iOS features.
@Tshirt: For most yes, but I have spoken to a few devs who said they've uploaded similar games to Android and iOS, and Android has made them more $$ compared to iOS.
I'm not sure how or why, but I'd say it has to do with the targeted demographic.
Having said that, I think focusing on iOS and getting us the features we need is more important than moving to another platform.

But for those of you that *still* want android, it'll be coming in the Autumn I believe.
