the template is a GameSalad Project file. You can simply open it and start customizing it like any other Project. If you already have a project going you can buy The Project Merger from http://www.deepblueapps.com or some of the template makers will will merge the template you just bought into your current project normally at no extra charge.

I do not get what the project manager does, can you only work on one game at a time?

its a project MERGER. it combines two GameSalad projects into one. Doing that manually by copying actors and scenes is very tedious because you have to recreate all of the attributes for the project you are copying and then find where they all where and replace them. The project MERGER does this for you with the click of a button.

The project merger puts 2 files into 1. So lets say you've been working on a game and then see a template you like, you think that would go well in your game so purchase the template. When you recieve the template you get a gamesalad project file, this is separate to any projects you've started, GameSalad doesnt like copying and pasting between two or more files, that means you have to manually copy everything from the template to your current project, that can be hard and very time consuming. The project merger takes care of it all for you in a matter of seconds, merging the 2 files together seemlessly.

If you buy a template and just change it up with your own assets and dont need to merge it then you dont need the project merger, the project merger is only used to combine files together!

    Hope that helps
