Flaming Mitten Pseudo 3D collecting/avoiding game (Spaaaaaaace Panda!)
Hi guys.
Time for a new game template for you.
It's a pseudo 3d thing again, but this time with a nice little collecting/avoiding game built around it. Been working on this one on and off for a while now.
Before I get to the video, here are a few things.
It uses a very simple control scheme, just move left and right (have included keyboard controls to make testing easier)
The stars are particles, you could easily change that to a background of choice. << I was messing around with a really colourful background, and set the graphics mode to additive on the bars to get a cool effect
The bars themselves, are just white, the colour is added from within GS. So you could change them per level, or during the level, or so all sorts of funky colour cycling on them maybe?
In the template, I have it set to trigger a level change after you collect 10 good things. That can easily be changed. You could maybe set it to increase depending on the level for example. You could also mess with the speeds depending on the level, and the rate at which the bad stuff and the good stuff is created
Also, the level changes all happen "in scene". So no loading between levels etc. I have kept the death as a separate scene, but you could quite easily change that to be in scene too if needed. Hopefully everything is as easy to understand as I could make it.
Those who have seen my templates before, will know by now, they are not your run of the mill, change some graphics, and bosh here we go publish (or less in some cases lol)
I want to try and make you think about GS, and sometimes in a different way than you might do usually.
So the movement and collisions in this one are handled in a way you might not have thought of before. It's a lot more "code-like" in my opinion. But I'll let you all be the judge of that.
Here is the video.....please note... I have made this silly game theme using the template, you could of course make a much more serious game........but I like Pandas......and strawberries!

Buy it now for £20

Definite purchase to see how its done. Nice job.
Much appreciated.
Don't tell anyone, but I am using a comedy song and game to sneak some interesting code into the lives of the people that buy the template....shhhhhhhh.
Space Panda is a Flaming Mitten creation. (It's used as an example of what you can do with the template)
Anyone found "just publishing" the template will have the Panda Patrol sent to their house to hit them with Bamboo
..you get the idea.

I know he's re-published many a template, and I don't have an issue that he has done the same with this one..................but using my song has got me ready for a fight
Do NOT publish the game with the included graphics examples...they are just that....examples (and not particularly great ones at that, it will make you look silly)
Also.. the song IS a published piece of work (silly as it is), and you will be breaking the law by publishing a game with the song left in, and I will come down on you with my Panda-Fist(tm)
Just felt I had to be a bit more specific there with the rules..........
That is all...as you were...
