Best size for forum profile picture?

Sorry if this is obvious but I've had a search and can't find anything. I want to change my profile pic here on the forums but whatever size image I upload it gets horribly crushed and blurred until it looks like I drew it with crayons. Whilst drunk. What is the native size of the profile pic, so that I can match it and have a nice crisp image?

    Screen capture my friend. :) It's 77x77 pixels and that includes the blue border so 76x76 without it

    Okay thanks, Obviously I could have done a screen capture too but the point is that when I view my profile page there is a much bigger image, so I didn't know if that was the native size and the forum view is scaled down from that, or whether the forum view is native and the profile page one gets scaled up from it... Maybe I'm thinking too far in to this :-) Cheers!

    Hi BarrytheBrave, try 300 pixels square to get your large profile pic looking good. :-) (It's reduced automatically for your avatar size).

    A-ha! It's definitely not 76x76, because when I tried that it looked okay in the forum but appalling on the profile page. What seems to work is uploading a 300x300 image (same size as image on profile page) then the forum view seems to get scaled down from that nicely.

    In closing - 300x300 is the way to go. Cheers GamersRejoice.
