So check this out. It really is not directly about why android is not that big of a deal but it does have some interesting stats to that effect.

I'll be honest, I think most people can sense the currentgen android gamerbase is behind that of apples ios market but i dont trust the author really..seems like hes holding out especially with his choice of statistics.

"GigaOM recently cited research from Distimo that showed paid downloads represent a truly minuscule proportion of total app downloads from the Android Market." - something which can be said of the apple apps too and im sure every platform but its saying android users are cheaper and more likely not to purchase then apple users. (25% vs 57%) .. .something pretty odd because i can think of shitloads of things that can affect that such as pretty crucial apps lacking but found free on the app store so the majority download it..more free apps on android for communication (which would be the majority downloaded id imagine) compared to number of paid apps on the android store...

79.3 percent of paid apps on the Android platform have been downloaded less than 100 times, and only 4.6 percent of paid apps were downloaded more than 1000 " - ok those figures are bad...but with the apple store flooded i dont think they are too far off with the first statistic

wasnt too worried about missing out on android, there may be some truth to the average android user being tighter with purchases than apple but thats not really a reason. if its good it will sell, how many can buy though ..

(ofcourse im thinking about games that will only really run on latest android phones) the iphone does feel more game friendly/compatible then android phones and it would make sense that gamers would go for that over the android so its not looking good for now

For what it's worth, The Secret of Grisly Manor pulls in between 5-6 thousand dollars a week on the Android platform for me. That's between the regular Marketplace, The Amazon appstore, and the NOOKcolor app store.

Hopefully GameSalad will support lots of platforms. So as many people as possible can experience your games.

Wow fmg. That's amazing. So you fit into the 4.6% with over 1000 downloads. It great to hear it finally picked up for you. I remember you saying sales were not good when you released on android.

I would also like gs to allow publishing to windows mobile. had a go on my friends the other day and it seems quite slick. Could catch on.
