Saved Games Dont Open!!!

When I save my games, often they dont open!!! I noticed this can happen when a new rule or behavior is added or taken out. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? or how to avoid it?
Saving multiple copies very often helps, but when you want to add something and it just doesnt open the project after save then, saving often doesnt hep very much.
