tshirtbooth orbit around point

tshirtbooth made a video about orbit around point which I followed and was all good until I tried to have two objects orbiting around separate points.

for example... one earth on the left with sun orbiting and same thing on the right. BUT the sun on the right disappears once I preview game. All I did was copy and paste rules over to the 2 actors I want orbiting.

How do I fix this?

You'll have to make all new set of attributes for the second set of actors. you cannot just use the same attributes or they will conflict with each other.

What new attributes do i need to give it? Can you give example please.

    Thanks

every attribute you created from his tutorial for one orbit you will need to create a new on for everything in the second orbit. I haven't seen the video so I couldn't say which ones.

well you have sunx and suny, now you will need sun2x and sun2y and then tell the second actor to rotate around those 2 attributes.

    cheers

I have tried this and now the actor is spinning in the left bottom corner of the screen. Don't know what to do

You also need to go into the second actor and change everything that references the first actors attributes to the second actors attributes.

Sorry mate but this is gonna seem harsh. I think if your not realizing these things then your prob way in over your head. My advice is take a big step back and study the cookbook videos, this sites wiki, also TSB has been making new stuff on gshelper.com

GameSalad is not that tough once you now the basics. and from the looks of things you don't know the basics. going back into your your new actor to reference the correct attribute is a given. the forum is a great place to get help but we certainly should not have to hold your hand through every single little step. If your not willing to help yourself, people are not going to be willing to help you. The way you help yourself is learn as much as you can on your own through the great resources that have been made free and available to you.

    Hope you get things working.

    Aaron

I don't want to be a jerk, but the science teacher in me couldn't let this pass:

You have your earth and sun switched.

    :)

Doesn't matter now, you know what I meant. Anyway I worked out what the problem was, forgot to change (cos) to (sin) :)

There's a couple of things I can't find in the "Cookbook" for example...
I have 2 actors one in front of the other BUT I am able to click through the actor in front to the one at the back. And I can not find any solutions for this.

Hey man I'm new too....Did you mean in the work space...or in Preview? Just right click on the actor in the scene workspace and you can move an actor forward or backward. If your talking about in preview i'm not sure what you mean.

It's all good trying to sort it in the, Touch through actor post. you'll see what I mean there :)
