Help With Art

I have LOADS of game ideas for gamesalad but i dont no which software like paint for windos to use so PLEASE help.

    pixelmator seems increasingly popular and is reasonable priced.
    Sumopaint is free and online.
    Gimp is a free download but some find too complex.
    Pixen is free and lots love it.
    Pencil is free and does animation
    Flash is expensive but does good vector animation
    Photoshop is Photoshop... and is great and expensive

    I use photoshop for everything. Although I also like illustrator but I don't use it all of the time. I think either one is worth the investment :)
