hi is it possable to draw a wiggly line import it as a png and then constrain an actor to it so that the actor would follow the path i want it to be a smooth fluid cured movment not just a zig zag or i would just you move atributes, i know you can do it in flash like in this video but is it possable or is there another way to get this sort of fluid wavey movment ??

cheers

Constraining the actor to the image wont work just because you drew it as a squiggly line. However what you are trying to do can be done but one of the more seasoned vets will have to shed light on it, I am not quite there yet

If it is possible it won't be easy. GS lacks paths right now. Other engines like Game maker have them. I think paths are on the roadmap this year. I would wait until they come out.

The closest thing you can do is waypoints and circle motion with the cos function.

its completely possible. Things get tricky if the squiggle is moving but if its stationary just take small invisible actors and place them along the line and make your actor collide with the invisible actors. also if the line is not moving you don't even need to use constrain. You can just uncheck movable on everything and your good to go.

If you have ever played Bumps. thats exactly how darren made all the curves. he said you could get a real nice cure with decent sized actors so you don't have 1000 tiny little invisible actors.

Also check out the wiki on the site. depending on what your doing you can use sin and/or cos and just make you actor move in a wave motion. I have don't this before for something that just moved back and forth on its own.
