Character Slots?

Hey Guys!
How do you make character slots and save files? For example you could have 3 slots and each of them is full. The game can detect that it is full so a warning pops up saying "No slots available. Are you sure you want to overwrite?" Also there are buttons to delete and make new files. How do you do this?

HELP PLEASE!!!
