Hey Guys,
Yoda posted that there was going to be a generous June release. The 1st week of June has passed, shouldn't there be an official announcement saying what will be included?

Just like every release before it, they will announce what is it in when it's released. You can always check the roadmap for a good idea.

I remember him posting about a June release. I don't remember it being it described as a "Very Generous" update though.

We've got a big release coming in June and that should include a number of items that were originally slated for Spring as well as the first batch of summer features.

I think an announcement should be made though

I understand your point completely, but I think a simple

"We expect to release..." would be okay.

What Yodapollo wrote is ambiguous. It doesn't say all of the features remaining for Spring... so Masala could be pushed back again. Also, for Summer, there are a lot of things listed that are not actually features...

GameSalad Cookbook - This is competition for my Textbook, so it is an interesting addition, but it's not a new feature.

In-App Purchases - I'm not in the mood to get into a legal battle with Lodsys. So, what good is a feature that I can't use? I'm glad that GameSalad was slow to launch this!

Targets: cleaner portfolio management and publishing - Being able to delete my old projects would probably be nice, but this is a superfluous feature. I don't want my games on the server at all. I don't even want to use the cloud. I'd rather build my games locally — on my computer!

GameSalad Marketplace - This is not a new feature for the GameSalad creator. It just makes it easier to make games. It might be a nice way to make some money, but there's already a glut of "Templates" on this site. There are places to buy content online. There are alternatives. Yet, my GameSalad apps still can't display what time it is, or adjust settings based on iOS device.

GameSalad 1.0 - At this point, it's merely semantics. I don't see that much difference between GameSalad of today and GameSalad of a year ago. The big changes on the list are more like GameSalad 2.0 to me.

Give the GS guys some air, NextGen! A June release could mean 30th June, no one said anything about the first week of June. As TSB said the Chefs haven't had a test beta yet and even if it's ready to fire next week, it could take upwards of a week or more for any bugs found to be ironed out, who knows; how long is a piece of string?. That's why it's practically impossible to give a release date until no more than a day or two before. Or even same day.

We're all keen but I guess we have to learn a bit of patience. ;-)

@Gyro, I'm not looking for a date, but for an guesstimation of what will be included in the next update

A "heads-up" is not unreasonable. If the Roadmap has changed, the page should be updated.

Whoops again, slight misunderstanding on my part, sorry. Still, I guess that any announcement won't be made until no more than a few days before.

Being the 9th already and not having a beta ... judging from previous releases i would be very surprised if they get it out in June at all.

Maybe the only thing 0.9.5 does is fix the Resolution Independence issue... haha ;-)

I'm sure most of you are aware that it typically takes longer to do tasks than anticipated, particularly in application development. One of the things I learned in my project management experience is that people typically tend to think they are 90% done on something when they are only about 50%.

Many of you have probably thought you were 90% done on a game just to spend as much time getting to that 90% as it takes you to do the last 10%.

I know GS said they would like to have something in June, but there is no way to accurately predict exactly how long it will take to prepare something. Making an application isn't like manufacturing where you know exactly how long it takes to do each step.

Just let GS go about their business, there is no reason to expect an update even when they say there should be one soon, and that applies to all software.

Ha ha... well... BOT was supposed to be done early last month. Yet, when I saw the schedule changing, I updated the community. There should be like daily updates here. If not daily, at least once a week — Salad Saturday or something like that.

Well i can tell you that the Chefs dont even have the beta yet so it may be some time still.

Since the software is in beta, wouldn't all the chefs get the alpha version :)

I'm just hoping it comes out before July. Any word from the GS team would probably calm everyone's nerves though.

Unless they're Agile (which it seems everyone is these days) then they really should have a pretty good understanding exactly when things should be done/released. Otherwise they'd be doing it wrong. But that would also mean that they would be dropping features to meet those deadlines. So perhaps they're not Agile? Maybe they should be? :P

It does fix the issue (was confirmed to me) but also includes other things and they said they didn't have a date for when that would be done. Which sucks because that very issue is holding my game up. I wanted to be done and have it submitted to Apple by mid-June. It appears that time frame might slip because of this issue. It's a bit irritating that you can be at the mercy of a bug that you have no control over.
