Hi all, to my understanding PRovisioning Profile is for testing purpose and distribution profile will be used when submit an app to Apple, is this correct? The question is, do I have to create a NEW Provisioning and Distribution profile for every game I create? I'm still pretty confused on the terminologies.

    Hey Appster,

Yes, provisioning profiles are used to test your game on a device. They can be created by going to the iOS Provisioning Portal and going down to the Provisioning section, and choosing the Development tab. Distribution profiles are used when you are submitting your app to Apple. They can be created by going to the iOS Provisioning Portal and going down to the Provisioning section, and choosing the Distribution tab. When creating a profile for the App Store, choose the App Store button when creating the profile. The third type of profile is the Ad Hoc profile. These profiles are also used to test on a device. Personally, I never understood why you should use Ad Hoc over just a development provisioning profile. You can create an Ad Hoc profile by going to the iOS Provisioning Portal and going down to the Provisioning section, and choosing the Distribution Tab and clicking Ad Hoc when creating a new profile. You DO need to create a new set of profiles for EACH app you develop. Hope this helps you gain a greater understanding of the iOS Provisioning Portal. You might also check out the Support section of GameSalad's website for additional help on this issue.
