Applecare Extended warranty.
Hey everyone!
bit of news as to what happened to my macbook pro,
while working on my game, my computer started to get all slow, so i decided to quit gamesalad and restart to see if it would solve the problem, it didnt do anything. so i decided id restart my macbook, as it was starting back up, i got stuck on the apple logo with a progress bar, was stuck like that for hours, so i decided to give the apple care support line a call, after ages of tryign to solve the problem, we got NO WHERE! so today i took it in to the apple store,
turns out my hard drive is dying, thus preventing proper startup, it would have costed me $171 AUD just to get another hard drive and transfer my data onto it,
further inspection of my macbook and my battery was absolutely screwed, so they are also replacing that, which would have costed another $162 AUD,
then another thing i pointed out was that i had a little bit of a foggy spot on my display, further investigation and the display is faulty, this would have costed me $647 to replace.
Lucky for me when i bought my macbook pro (2009) i went ahead and bought the extended warranty, as my computer is still under the warranty, im now having a new hard drive, display and battery pack put into my computer free of charge,
so i highly suggest to anyone and everyone, to get the extended warranty as it saved me from paying $1019 AUD(including the labor) to have my computer fixed.
