Updates/Versions/Pulling and resubmitting?????
I first created "ABCs & 123s" for iPad. Big hit. So the wife demanded I make a iphone version. I did and its pretty much the same thing in regards to artwork and theme. Sorta like a mini me version. I named it " ABCs & 123s SD". Now that I have a iphone version I would like to rename my iPad version to " ABCs & 123s HD " Whats the way to go about doing this?
1: Can versions 1.0 - 1.1 - 1.2 be renamed, or just changes within the app itself?
2: Is a update also a version? If so go to question 1.
3: Can I pull my ipad app from the store. Resubmitt the app as new app with new name..sku#...etc etc ?? Same thing as submitting a totally new app to the store.
4: If I pull the original from the store and submit the new app with the new name. Will previous customers of the original app be able to download their copy of the origianl when they need to. Or when they need to will be forced to repurchase the newly submitted newly named App?
This is new one to me. Havent seen any discussion on this type of issue.

2. An update is a version.
3. I'm not sure why you would want to (see #4). Apple may reject it if it's just a re-submission with a different name (you would basically be screwing the customers of the previous version by pulling the previous version and submitting it again as a new app). If it had lots of changes (like it was a sequel), that would get approved.
4. No, if the previous version is pulled from the App Store, they would not be able to re-download it, but the computer they sync to iTunes with should still have a copy of the previous app to restore to their iOS device. Because it's a new app, previous customers of the old app will not be able to upgrade for free.
