certificate problems

when i was uploading my app to apple through application loader, i got to the part where it says choose. I chose the app's zip file, but it says part was signed by unknown authority. in the keychain access, there is only one certificate that was signed wierd. for some reason, the certificate is just a bunch of random numbers and letters, unlike any other certificate, and it says it was signed by an unknown authority. any ideas?
btw i don't exactly want to rebuild my app, all the images were removed and corrupted as of one of the former updates.... otherwise it will be a long week....
