simulating depth

hey everyone. i'm trying to simulate depth, ie something moving towards the person as they see it on the screen.

i'm trying to deconstruct and re-make the stick cricket game, or at least an approximation to it, using gamesalad as an exercise in learning the engine and making iphone games.

there doesn't appear to be any built in feature in gamesalad that allows you to do this but i was wondering if there were any workarounds people were aware of?
