Making an ipa for TestFlight

Hey there friends,
I'm having difficulty creating an ipa file for my game that works with TestFlight. I know some of the users here have done it. Is there anything special we need to do since we are using Gamesalad?
My build works fine when I skip test flight and just install it as an AdHoc. But when I follow their instructions for making an ipa outside of Xcode, I get an 'Unable to Download "AppName"' Error.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks very much!

Publish App through GS
Create new folder called Payload (case senstive)
Drop Published GS app inside
Right click and compress
rename compressed file appname.ipa (make sure you delete the .zip from the end) then choose ipa when it asks you are you sure you want to change the extension
then upload to testflight
captialcarnage: That's the standard method that I tried out. Its not working for me. I'm getting the error I mentioned above. I've read many threads on the TestFlight board about different possible ways to resolve the issue, but nearly all of the people are using Xcode to generate the ipa, and we obviously, are not.
So I'm wondering if anyone here has had any problems that occurred beyond the basic steps, and if so what they did to fix them? Any help would be hugely appreciated. This is pretty much my last barrier to finally getting this game finished!
Kapser: so you took that ipa that iTunes generated and uploaded that to test flight? That's worth a shot, I'll try that tonight.
Thanks again everyone.
