Safari Plug in won't update

I really need some help here. Everytime I try to preview in safari I get a message asking me to update the safari plug in, which I do. A page loads and tells me that the plug in can't be found. What is going on with this application?

Anyone had this problem before?

Just go to the website and download instead.
I had thecsame problem and doing it like that fixed the problem

once I did that I did have to close everyhing and restart.

    It's fine now.
