About how much do artists charge on here?

Hi I am looking into creating a zombie game and wondering on average how much would an artist charge on here for creating about 50 backgrounds for my levels?

    There is no answer to that question.

    Some charge a few bucks, some charge a lot.

    Some are good artists, and some are not.

    Depends what you want, what you're willing to spend, and what people are willing to do.

    You will get what you pay for, most often. Ask artists for references, ask for their portfolio, and ask for everything to be written down and an agreed upon price.

    Hobbyists=Cheap but varying quality, Freelancers=Costly, but mostly great quality.

    I'm working as an freelancer and my rates are 40$/hour, so most people on this forum cant afford me, but I'm currently working on 2 projects at that rate so I guess its not unreasonable for indie-devs with realistic budgets.

    Charges around $35 an hour. He's doing some art for me now.

    You also might want to try and find someone who will give you a flat rate for what you want. AKA 10 backgrounds, X amount of animations, etc etc for an agreed amount.
