How can i do this control ?

I am trying to do a this control, but not to sure how.
I don't want to purchase the template because its only one control i would ever use.
its the FIRST one in this video.



Any help ? :)

    It looks like you use vector to angle to compare the ball's x and y to the touch x and y at release to get the angle and use magnitude to get the power.

    You would probably be better off just getting the template. Who knows what else you may use the other controls for down the road. And the time spent figuring this out could be used doing other things to make your game great.
