Highscore Games vs Games with Levels?

I'm wondering which sells better. Highscore games are much easier to make than games with levels, but which sells better? Is the time and effort of making a game that you can actually complete worth it?

Both Angry Birds and Doodle Jump have done quite well. It doesn't really matter what type of game it is, it just has to be so much fun that people can't put it down and tell all of their friends about it!

Take a look at the top 25 games to get an understanding of the level of care and love that goes into a successful game. Anything less generally won't sell very well.

Exactly. You're not competing with just GS made games - you're competing with *everyone*. And that includes the big boys with huge resources like Gameloft, EA and Namco :O

The app store is MUCH more competitive than it was even a year ago, and the competition will continue to rise!
