pendulum swing

Hi,

M new here, so plz help.

I intend to do an actor swinging on a pendulum and shooting of on a button press.
I've made the pendulum swing around on collision with actor. But after that the pendulum keeps resetting and the actor keeps colliding with it.

Can anyone suggest on how to go about with this?
