Hi guys, I need to know what you think that I should do now.

I wanted to change the name where it says "More iPhone Apps by XXXXXX" or "Visit XXXXXX Web Site" on iTunes, ever since I subscribed for the developer program. It was a poor choice of words.

Anyway, I enrolled for a new membership, just to change that name.(Before the old account expires).

There was something wrong in iTunes Connect so I contacted Apple. They called me and said:

-You can't have multiple individual accounts.

I said:
-So let's cancel the first one.

He:
-But all the apps will be gone. And you can't even use the names again.

Me:
-I know, but, people causing me a lot of problems just because I'm using XXX at my seller id.

He:
-Ok, than maybe that is not necessary. Let me look into this further.

So, I'm hoping he'll come with a solution. Maybe change my first account's name, move my apps to the new membership etc.

After a long long time (2 weeks) he calls again and says "There is nothing to do. Everything is impossible. Nothing can be done. I'm refunding you for your second membership. Continue using your first one!"

I said OK.

Then I contacted GoDaddy. I wanted a refund for the products I specifically bought for my second membership, they said no.

So, do you think is there anything else I can do to use my second membership? (I contacted with devprograms@apple.com. Maybe I should send a different e-mail to somewhere else?)

I really can NOT continue using my original seller id. Some people are seriously causing some headache.

Do you think is there any chance that my $200+ won't get trashed at GoDaddy?

:(

After all of these, remains one last and sure option: "Just let your first membership expire". Sure its bad but I want to see some one says to you that something is impossible!

Remember: Nothing is impossible since the people are fail.

    Good lucky!

    See yah,

Wow that's annoying. You just need to change the display name of the developper/website right?

I've put my company name, but I regret not simply putting my real name instead. I was really hoping there would be a way to change this. Name change is a common thing, I can't believe this is impossible and it looks like the simplest solution to your problem.

    I know right?

    That is their latest reply:

"Please know that we have processed a refund for your order as an exception to our no refunds/no exchanges purchase terms."

So they CAN bend the rules to make me a refund. But, they CAN'T bend the rules to cancel my first account (Which makes $300-$400 a month, which supposed to be hard for ME not for them), or can't bend the rules to simply changing the name.

At least my first account expires on August. So, 1-2 month lose of my GoDaddy's 2 hosting and 2 advertising purchases.

I'm just so mad at Apple right now..

Could you register with Apple as a corporation? I think I've seen individuals upgrade their account to a corporate name.

    Yes, it says here:

"If I enroll as an Individual, can I change to a Company later?

To convert your iOS Developer Program Membership from an Individual to a Company please contact us. As part of the conversion process, you may be asked to submit business documents proving your company’s identity."

Unless you already registered as a business...

Angry birds had there game removed from challingos account when there contract was up and they got to keep there app name .

I guess it's a classic case of "Big vs. Small". I don't think they'll let me keep my App names too.. :(

Yes, they offered mt to migrate my account to a company account, which solves all my problems. But the thing is, I'm not a company. And I don't know how it works in USA but here, it costs too much to have a company..

You can change the name is you want to... Contact iTunes connect. When I was working for my employeer I inserted the wrong name in the company and he talked with itunes connect and after some verification process he changed it.

I tried to do that again and again and again.. The answer was always no. That's why I purchased a new Developer Account. But, the answer is still "no" :)

I guess it is a matter of who reads your e-mail first. If someone helpful reads, then you're okay. But, if you're unlucky like me, they don't care how desperate you are and just do what is easy for them. (Saying "NO" means less work for them I guess..)

    Damn you Apple!

    Did you look into it?
I'm in Canada and here it costs about $100 to register a business.

Yep, I did look into it.

I don't know what's up with my damn country's laws, but registering can be considered cheap (around $1000) but, there are too many monthly fees that I can't stand..

That's very pricey! Where abouts is that?
