To get to top 50 in the itunes app store.. It's quite a feat. and it is not easy. The top 10 apps get about 8-12 thousand downloads a day. To get to the top 50 you would at least need 3-4 thousand.
N&N is another story. To get to the new and noteworthy Apple needs to like your game if they do they will feature it. Contrary to the top 100 listings, the N&N section doesn't have to do anything with sales. More like if Apple thinks your game is cool.
