Yes good article, i took this approach with my game 'Line Ar(X)'. I tried to give the player a new feature every 5-10 levels. As that set of 5 to 10 levels goes on, each level gets harder. It goes on like this to level 50, after that, the difficulty then begins to drop so you see out the game and leave it feeling (hopefully) good.
