Ok before I hit the hay once again....

Quick question for the world...

Which of the following should I do:

POINT AND CLICK ADVENTURE:
Finish my Dark Asylum Game...which will need a 4 months work, but was looking alright...and is a full blown point and click adventure with a lot of horror touches... If I decide to carry on with it I may need to remake some of it to make it load quicker.

OR

LEMMINGS GAME IDEA:
Or make a new fresh game idea based around 'Lemmings' but designed for the iphone...Hopefully finishing it after only 2 months...

???

Well personally I'd like to see Dark Asylum finished. But I also know how discouraging certain projects can be. If the Lemmings idea will give you the motivation to finish Dark Asylum afterwards than that's fine too.

Dark asylum looks like what I would want to finish. No offense to firemaplegames, this looks better than Grisly Manor.

You have bigger competition under point&click adventure games. There are a lot of this games made with GameSalad, and a lot more made with other software.

Actually there are only 3 on the appstore that I know of.
The Secret of Grisly Manor by Fire Maple Games, which did really well and was GameSalad's most successful game. The train, and Escape from Laville.

I say, no matter what you decide, just finish "Dark Asylum" in near future.. I know it may have greater competition but really, it looks fantastic. (And I never get tired of adventure games...)

Perhaps working on another game like lemmings will make the frustration (from working on Dark Asylum for so long) go away...

Finish the game! Its easy to daydream of new projects but they'll all be difficult and time consuming in one way or another (if they're any good).

If you need to, split it into chapters and release with the first 1 or 2. And add the others in updates.

In fact, we'll be getting iap in GS soon, so release it with the first couple of chapters as a free game. Then make the next chapters iap on the update

(I'm assuming you can do that and don't have to set the iap stuff in apple dev centre to begin with on each game?)

I vote for Dark Asylum so I can play it! ;)

Of course it's Asylum. There is not much competition in adventure genre (one game a month, maybe 2 at max, that's pretty good), and much more chance that your game will be successful. I vote for DA. Just make it awesome.

I would say Dark Asylum, but i think the answer is whichever inspires you more.

Dark Asylum, definitely! Love the atmosphere, even from the short clip.

Go Dark Asylum! The music is especially creepy, adding a lot to the atmosphere of the game. But adventure games are often known for their storylines. Try a dark, spooky, CHILLING story- like, say, Shutter Island?

Thanks guys.... and cheers svn.... I've got a story layed out already with all the puzzles planned...hopefully its scary enough.... maybe not clever enough.. need another twist at the end perhaps..

Also...after deciding not to go on and create a Lemmings style game, I quickly put what I was planning together and made a template for it instead... (I might finish a game with it one day)...

    Check it out below:

    thanks again...

Tomorrow I start on Dark Asylum 100% (hopefully)

    Cheers
