Hey y'all :)

I currently don't own an iPad (I know, tragic right?) but am looking for a way to test my iPad apps without one. Has anyone had success using just the iOS Simulator without an actual device to test their apps?? I've been trying to get the iOS Simulator and Xcode to work together and haven't had any luck yet. If anyone has ANY advice it would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
kat

You can preview your games through the GameSalad creator. You also have the option of creating an Ad Hoc version of the game to do testing with people from around the world who do have iPads.

    Best of luck!

May want to start by watching the Viewer how-to video:

Thank you both for your feedback!

LelandLong.. I watched the tutorial and followed the steps with still no luck. It seems like this tutorial is still geared towards people that actually have a device (ipad or iphone) to plug in.. which I don't.

I'm still wondering if anyone has had success with no device plugged in, only using the simulator on your computer screen to see your apps working. I guess I'm just wanting to know if this is even possible with no device (??)

to answer your question yes you can use the viewer on the ios simulator in xcode. But it will run nothing like it will on the actual device.

if you plan on developing youll need devices to test on no matter what. You cant publish somethign without testing. So i would just save up and get a device asap
