Hi, everyone,
The game I am working on is a third person type driving game. How would I make the background turn with the car when it moves left, right, or backwards.

Thank You

basically without some amazing art skills you cant. See gamesalad is a 2d gameengine so all of your turns are gona have to be done in the art as there is no way to rotate on a 3d axis. And thats gonna be really hard I would imagine

No you might go look in the marketplace. There was pretty cool psedo 3d racing template up there but again the back ground really isn't turning he's just got some effects going that give it a slight feel of 3D
Here you go i went ahead and found you the link. http://gamesalad.com/forums/topic.php?id=16974

Sorry to send you to the market mate but its really the only thing i have seen done with gamesalad that might get you in the right direction.

    Good luck

It was not very sweet but I made a 3d(ish) side on flight sim for kids in GS with vertical and horizontal parallax and some scaling of objects. It's not something that gave very good results. It only looked good after a few compromises and took a long time to sort out all the relationships between objects. It was also on the limits of acceptability in terms of performance.

Check out the link that Tenrdrmer (congrats also) suggests, and see if it gives a result that you find within the ballpark of what you want to do/acceptability. It would certainly teach you a thing or two as you were working on it...

    Good luck

Thanks. When you say without some amazing art skills, what do you mean and what could I do?

Really gamesalad is a 2d engine and to reach that effect you have to play with the art but still it may not be satisfactory.

You have to be a good enough artist to draw an image in 2d that appears to be 3 Dimensional when you slide it right or left.

And I have no idea what you could do as i'm not an artist. You can try hiring an artist but I bet most artist are not going to be able to make it look right either.
