What is the General Discussion forum for?

I just had a thread closed within about 30 seconds of being up because tenrdrmer I guess wanted to see if his sous chef abilities work.

He said and I quote "I'm closing this since its has no use to the community."

But wait a second! What does it say right next to General Discussion?

"General Discussion – Something something having nothing to do with GameSalad..."

On top of that within general discussion it was put in the sub category Miscellaneous. So I do believe somebody (tenrdrmer) is misusing his sous chef status.

I did have a question though maybe you could answer tenrdrmer. Why did you not close these threads that you participated in?

1.Ryan Dunn - tenrdrmer said

“How about the passenger who died because Ryan Dunn was drinking and driving way to damn fast. Not trying to be disrespectful just adding a little perspective to the whole thing.”

2.What has been your favorite toy ever? - tenrdrmer said

“I always loved toy planes and car when I was young but honestly these are now my favorite toys. They help me relieve LOTS of stress. :)” There was a picture of 10 guns below his post.

why dont you chill out with the personal attack. Or better yet go actually make a game. You made a post asking about spam. that is absolutly pointless, and should be closed. Theres no general discussion there, no one wants to waste there time talkign about spam.

Second off he wasnt a sous chef when those other threads happened see he didnt have to say anything.

Go find something more productive to do with your time pal. And if you need to talk about spam that bad go find a friend

I am making a game currently and I use these very helpful and supportive forums to figure out how to make my game. But when I'm constantly seeing more spamming it not only makes the forums cluttered but also can turn off new users to discovering all the good information here.

@JohnPapiomitis Going by your logic... "Second off he wasnt a sous chef when those other threads happened see he didnt have to say anything."

Your saying once bestowed with title of sous chef your morals change and you must become holier than thou by snuffing out anything you don't think is of any use to the community?

If that were the case why do we still have a miscellaneous forum?

    I can't believe I'm even having to explain this. Spam=Bad Discussion=Solution

yes that is what im saying. when you take on the good part of being a sous chef (beta bulds, ect.) you also take on the bad. Which is policing the forum, and keeping it clean and clutter free with useless posts. Some people will hate them for that but thats the way it is.
