I managed to figure out how to make a car with rotating wheels with the help of one of TSB videos. I set it so the car moves from left to right. When It moves to the right it works fine and when It goes the other way it also works, however as soon as I let go both wheels move forward. Im a relatively new to GS and tried many obvious ideas but nothing as yet works. I have attached a video so you see exactly what problem I am having.

The first question I would ask you is- Are you constraining the positions of the wheels to the car with offsets for their positions relative to the car actor?

TSB. When key right and key left are pressed. I can attach a screen shot so you can see what I have done.

The problem seems to be when the car turns left and stops the wheels contrain to there starting positions and not to a new position X & Y position. I have attached a screen shot of one of the wheels if this helps.

I think if you make rules for the constrained position based on the displayed car image then it would avoid the return to the start position which is out of sync with the return position of the car.

If you have not done so already you might also jiggle the art of the car so the wheels for back and front are in identical positions so you don't have to switch them for each direction. This you could do in photoshop by flipping a copy of the car and then overlaying it so the wheel arches line up and then crop to the combined width.

    hope that helps

My first thought is that it might be that the global attribute you used for the car or wheel position might be an integer so that's why you are getting slight movement at end. Is this the case? If so try using real attribute for much finer precision as it uses decimal points whereas integer only uses whole numbers.

    Hi Micksolo

Im using real attributes not integer. I just checked and doesn't make a difference for my example.
    Thanks for the thought.

    Chris. It's sent.

edit.... I think on another look at your demo that the wheels might be reverting back to the right car facing position and the car is still facing left. If your art is not totally symmetrical... they are not going to sit in the correct position.
